Pretty much me in a nutshell.

Pretty much me in a nutshell.

And on the subject of rings…

I promised my close friend, Maria, that I would find her a wedding/engagement ring that had no diamond(s). I’m always up for a good challenge!

.

Now, you may think I’m cutting corners by suggesting this, but here goes…

.

PEARL.

.

A brief history: Pearl rings were once traditional engagement rings. So, they have a nice antique flair naturally built in. They also come in numerous shades, depending on the region in which the oyster was excavated.

.

Here are some examples of pearl rings that I recommend:

The plus to pearl rings instead of diamond rings is that they run much lower in price and still carry with them class and elegance. Do remember that many jewelers will pair small diamonds with the pearl inset, making the price grow. However, if you are willing to dig a little, you can find completely pearl rings, like those from the aforementioned links.

And, if you decide to add in a teensy bit of diamond, I love this choice: http://www.legendblue.com/page.jsp?s=6&p=1079

Though I am normally prejudice of roses in weddings (mostly b/c they are cliche and thereby “ordinary” during a momentous occasion), but this batch has struck my fancy. The difference is in the detail: where most rose bouquets are the same color and size, this collection seamlessly weaves together dissimilar roses. The outcome makes me think that the bride herself grasped these flowers from a beautiful fairytale garden moments before walking down the aisle. There is something wildly romantic, charming, and whimsical about a flower setting in perfect disarray.

I’m kind of obsessed with blues and cremes. These photos just intensified that love.

Cute, elegant, and simple! If the white palette is too plain, swap these flowers with blue-bells or another smallish floral group.
